Malayan Exchange; Studies of Notes of the Future by Green Zheng

The site-specific solo showcase by Green Zheng explores the theme of political conflict and the role of the Opposition parties by paying particular historical events in the 1960s. Curated and represneted by Valentine Willie Fine Art, the exhibition is also time-specific as the Singapore election is around the corner. The exhibition runs from 1-13 March 2011 at the Arts House, Singapore.

Although the theme has no direct link to LGBT issues, some of the works actually speak about the status of Singapore citizens and equal treatment to all citizens, in a more political way though, but hey! Aren’t this apply to social aspect as well? Addition to that, since the election has been the headlines for the past few weeks, some of the LGBT community representative tried to get the stand of each political parties that are running for the election regarding their stand towards LGBT issues.
