Aubrey Edwards, New York-based American photographer was in town from mid March to mid April for a one month residency at Objectifs; center of photography. She went to find out about the transgender community locally and went back to their historical position back in 1980s.
Tania de Rozario spoke to her which you can find the interview page here. It’s touching to see someone who are from outside Singapore to explore this specific theme which involves a small group minority. Often neglected and jeered at, the Transgender community has stories to tell and they are sure to be unique. The photographs will be finished in May 2011 and showcased in New York.
