House of Incest: an Ob/Scene Surrealist Cross-Disciplinary Art Rave

House of Incest: an Ob/Scene Surrealist Cross-Disciplinary Art Rave

“If only we could all escape from this house of incest, where we only love ourselves in the other, if only I could save you all from yourselves.” – Anaïs Nin, House of Incest (1936)

The Ob/Scene collaborates with literary revolutionaries Grapheme Zine Lab (graphemezinelab.com) to present House of Incest, a week-long multi-disciplinary groupshow that features a surreal, provocative art exhibition, in addition to other events such as academic talks, film screenings and an intimate poetry reading. House of Incest is one of several fundraising events to help Post-Museum.

Post-Museum is an independent cultural and social space in Singapore which aims to encourage and support a thinking, pro-active community. It hosts the Singapore Really Really Free Market, The Soup Kitchen Project, talks by local NGOs, performances by theatre groups, art exhibitions and workshops amongst others.

However, with the end of their current lease, Post-Museum will be closing down its current premises come end July. House of Incest is one of several fundraising events to help Post-Museum make up its budget deficit for its four years of operation and gather capital for its future space. All artworks are for sale and events are entry by donation or ticketed. Do support generously!

RAP will be covering these programs which are definitely not to be missed! Hey! How many times Singapore has sex-themed or erotica showcases yearly? Not a lot yea. And thanks to Post Museum who has been opening their spaces for such ‘unwanted’ art! It is sad that they have to go and RAP will try to have a words or two with them!

*hint*hint*
RAP loves the works by Eeshaun and Holly Pereira! Should we get them for our collection?
